I love this photo of my daughter, Hailee. I took it in December, just before her second Christmas at 23 months old.

I set up battery-operated candles around our tree and used a hollowed-out book with a flashlight inside. My husband held the book (I edited his hand out later), and we told her there was a surprise inside.

When she opened it, the light lit up her face perfectly—and I caught her reaction in that exact moment. Such a fun image to create, inspired by reading The Night Before Christmas together leading up to her second Christmas.
